Think it would stop condensation on the internals of the engine- can only be a good thing

    • I solved my power loss issue by selling my DS3 and buying a Volkswagen Scirocco. Thanks for all the support guys!

          • Sadly it does seems like the least costly method to fix the problem!

            • Well I don't think that a VW is THE solution (depending on the engine) as their TSI engines are a pain if (when) they blow.

              • The THP's are known for the Timing Chain Tensioner issues. My tensioner went after 50.000 miles in my C4.

BMW had massive issues when they first used this engine in their mini cooper s, but acknowledged it and recalled all the mini's with that engine fitted, Citroen however denied any knowledge of their being an issue and wont do anything to help you, as i found out.

                • The more recent THP 155s seem to not be afflicted by the timing chain/tensioner issue thankfully
Think there was a overhaul at end of 2010 begin 2011
Mainly the early 2010 THPs sometimes suffer (But only a small percentage relatively speaking)

                  • Ah i see, that doesnt shock me, id of expected them to do something about it.

typically mine was one of the small percentage lol

                    • Lets just hope that they don't start going after warranty expires :Joni:
How much yours cost Tom? - think its around £900 for timing chain and tensioner on a DS3

                          • Count me in, I don't have boost at all. Or according to logging I get boost even up to 0.4 bar, but it drops immediately. Suspect waste gate, but cannot be certain.
Waste gate cannot be replaced, but whole turbo needs to be replaced. Forge had a replacement waste gate actuator, but gave up since installation runs you into a suicide.

I have to admit, I got to the point. I am fed up with this car. Will get it fixed and most likely get rid off it ASAP.

                              • I was lucky as there was no further damage, so got away with just changing the tensioner, and that came to £208

and guess what, it was 2 months out of warranty when it failed
