This is my 2nd ds3, currently got a 62 plate d sport + when I brought the car a few months ago it had like a grinding / rubbing noise on the drivers side. They said this is normal if it has been sat for a while and that it's the brake discs layer of corrosion and that if I keep driving it then it will go away.
So I did that for about a month with no difference. I then went back to the dealers who stripped the front drivers side wheel and brake and said they thought something was rubbing on the back of the disc. Can't remember what it was so I took it away. Exactly the same so I run it a bit longer before today when I took it back. Today they had a look at the car. Exhaust bracket had corroded and broke. That was fixed under warranty. They said they think the grading is the back break discs as there corroded and pitted. After negotiation they recommended that they strip both back brakes take a layer off the discs so there smooth and reassembled. They said I have still got about 80% left on the pads n still a lot of life in the discs. Soon as I left the noise was still there and louder so I went straight back. They now think I might need new disc n pads on the back. There going to contact Citroen in the morning and see if they will do that for me under warranty as I kept going back so now waiting to hear. I think it's more the wheel it's self than the brakes.
Does any body else have this. Or had this. I have done about 6 thousand miles since I've had the car. About 300 a week average. Why are they corroding then?
If they dont sort it I'm thinking of terminating the finance some how and handing it back.
