  • Ds3 E-hdi oil usage after chip tuning

    Dear all,

I have chip tuned my DS3 1.6 e-Hdi around 2 months ago and have driven 8000km since.
Now since the chip tuning my DS3 used around half of the oil when checking.

I think this is due to the chip tuning, higher engine temperature, oil is thinner, more pressure.

But my question is, i want to get rid of the oil usage.

When i go back to the standard 92ps instead of the 111ps chip tuned
Will the oil usage stop or will it continue as it already started now..?

I am thinking of going back to stock set up if the oil usage will stop then again.

    Thanks for tips!

I do not think it will stop because I do not think it has anything to do with the remap. Lots and lots of remapped 90's out there with no oil usage problems.

      Thanks for your reply Cyclone.
Do you have any idea where to look for the root cause of the oil usage?

Last week i did an oil change but now the oil level is going down again after only 600km i lost already 3 stripes when checking
The exhaust at the back turns also black....

Oh wow, I never had any oil issues with a SP Tuning remap - I'd definitely agree with cyclone that it's being caused by something else.

Is it dropping oil underneath the car when parked up ? My diesel doesn't smoke at all (well I've never seen any), I wonder if your DPF is blocked ? Not a mechanic so don't think that would cause the oil loss but I'd get your DS3 checked over by a trusted dealer if I were you....
