There should have been a rise in engine temp after 30 mins of running time regardless of how cold it is outside!!!
Did you notice if the temp needle had moved? Was there warm air with the Air Con off?...I should never have doubted the Lord of Bacon!!

Hi,tThis is quick, ran engine on drive no temp rise(usal thought therostate stuck open) A/c off no warm air, A/C on inside screen frozen guess -3 deg C air being blown in. Dealer said they have check all parts of heating / cooling system. I am due to collect today with recorded readings taken by dealer. We are used to previous cars being able to defrost/demist in 5 to 10 minutes this is taking 30/45 mins when very cold. Of course we could be mistaken and this is the norm but right now I find it unacceptable.

Well i would say that your car is NOT the norm. Our DS3 de-iced with -14c outside weather within 10 mins of running on our drive, this when we had the deep snow and we live right up in the north of scotland....I should never have doubted the Lord of Bacon!!

This is certainly NOT my experience of the 1.6Hdi 90, mine warms considerably quicker than my wife's C3 and my old C2, was only taking around 5mins of idling while scraping the exterior of the windows to get car warm.
The way I've been doing it is start the car, heater to max, blower to max and set to screen. Rear heater on and then start clearing side windows, then finish clearing the loosened stuff on the rear before tackling the windscreen, by this time the heat has started to loosen the ice and it clears quite easily.
Then if necessary put the aircon on to dry the inside of the windscreen.
That's what I've found to work well with my DS3, and by the time I've driven about 3 miles am having to turn the heat down as it soon gets nice and toastie.

Mines The Same As Johns ?
Takes About 5 Mins With Heavy Frost And With Those 5 Mins You Have A Clear View For Driving ?

Okay i think we need to sort out what everybody is doing!
What you should do for de-ice with manual and manual air con is turn the heater to full, turn the fan to full, turn the air selector to window only and turn on the air circulator. Climate control all you need to do is press the windscreen button, but turn the heat up to full.
Is anybody doing this different?...I should never have doubted the Lord of Bacon!!
