  • Need New Rear Brakes, Advice?

Hey all, been told I need new pads and discs on my DS3 (Rear) less than 3mm remain on the pads and the discs are wreaked...
EBC Green stuff pads are certain...(Upgrade)

As for discs, anyone have any advice?
Pagid are looking £104 a set (standard), Citroen garage quoted £260 for the pads & discs (Standard), EBC Discs are £170 (Standard)

Never been a fan of cheap brakes but Citroen's prices are too high.

I'm expecting the same (fronts on mine) when it has its 25k mile service next Monday, would be interested to see what you go for

Take a look at Mintex brake discs - rears with pads can be had for under £120 delivered.

I have their discs and pads at both ends of my DSport and, apart from a bit of brake squeal until they bed in, they seem fine

Didn't your dealer offer you an alternative option to standard parts?

          No they didn't...
I told them to go ahead, despite the high price etc etc...
I came to the saddening realisation that I don't have the time to do it myself...

Would they just offer Citroen recommended parts, or alternative manufacturer parts?
EG- would they provide drilled and grooved discs if they were asked?

Mine will need new brakes at next service, as they were %60 worn last time
But want drilled and grooved for faster cooling discs

We understand that all our customers are working to a budget, some tighter then others so where we can we do offer an alternative OEM part equivalent to genuine Citroen parts.

Does anyone have a picture of the 110 Ehdi engine bay that they could share please, looking at the area by the belt tensioner and washer bottle.
                Thanks.
I'll post up what happened a little later. Very happy with Citroen Hatfield's customer service :-)

Long story short, my car had a short list of faults:
Radio cutting out, Interior lights not working, Knocking from engine bay - looked like belt tensioner was hitting the mounting, Corrosion around the centre of the front wheels and rear brakes were scrap - discs scored deeply and pads low.

Went into Citroen Hatfield garage about 2 weeks ago to book a check up, very polite lady at the service desk, wrote down everything I said and discussed the process they have to follow.
Dropped my car off Monday just gone, again very nice lady talked me though everything, allowed me to add to the list of faults already given, took me out to check the vehicle for damage and to show the faults etc... I told that I would get a call back later during the day after they had looked at the car.

Later that day, I got a phone call telling me what they had found as expected as well as telling me about the rear brakes, gave a quote for them, and said everything else was covered. Should be ready by Wednesday?! (every other Citroen garage has taken at least 7 weeks... so i wasn't so sure...)

Anyway, Come Wednesday I gave the go ahead for the brakes (first thing in the morning, they sounded half asleep on the phone the first time and i even got cut off! ha ha, Second time round they added the brakes to the list, again Very polite and gave great customer service)...
Wednesday evening, I get a call saying it's ready for collection?!

Happy days. All sorted, all faults excpet the lights and radio- which fixed them selves? were repaired and the car turned around in less than 2 & 1/2 days from dropping it off!
                      New wheels, belts etc

Nothing negative to say about them or there work :-D
I would highly recommend this garage to anyone in the area! 5/5 "The best customer service I have ever seen." - I stand by it :-)

ECB and Greenstuffs from Amazon, paid peanuts to have then fitted by a French car specialist and only took a morning.
