  • Blow Off Valve problem?

Anybone encounter any problems with the Blow off valve?

I've been to a tunning shop yesterday and they told me that the PSA engines suffer from the blow off valve. This is because the blow off valve's internal pulley is made of plastic and also its too near the internals of the engines therefore getting a lot of heat. Its a common problem for the peugeot 207 1.6 Turbo (is using the same engine as the ds3 turbo). They told me that they have a more durable replacement of the blow off valve and its made of aluminium instead of plastic so by replacing it the problem will be solved . However is a bit costly around 140GBP for this. Anyone has any problems with the blow off vavle of the ds3 turbo?

As the DS3 is only a year old and it comes with a 3yr warranty I would think that it would make more sense to have it sorted by Citroen.
This is unless you have had the engine modded in some way and invalidated the warranty.
Other than that I can only assume the tuning shop is trying to make an extra sale

      Rip off bud.

As John said if there is a genuine problem take it back to your dealer to fix it.

If you're adamant on fitting an aftermarket BOV you can get one from Forge that fits the THP engine for around £50/£60 and only takes 10mins to fit yourself.

That isn't the same DV fitted to the 150THP in the DS3 =/

As I said before bud, I think your "tuner" is just looking to make some easy cash from you. The DV itself isn't going to give you any gains when it comes to putting out power it's simply gonna make you sound like a pimp when you release the throttle xD

If anything you'll be losing a couple of horses.

No it isn't the same, that's the point. You have to change the DS3 one with this one, because this is better. The DS3 one is poor quality

My tuner did not say anything for gaining power, he told me that the pulley inside the dump valve is made of plastic and there is an uprated version from forge (code number FM207V for ds3 turbo, mini cooper S and Peugeot 207 1.6 THP) this uprated version comes with aluminium pulley instead of plastic and its of better quality. If its true or he is just trying to make money i have no idea about it
