Sounds a lot like my collision back in December, except in mine I was the one who suddenly stopped and the person behind had no idea why and was still convinced I was lying even after explaining to her. (Footage below).

Did the person at least explain why they stopped? Without any footage it'll be difficult for this to go down as anything apart from an at fault claim. As least you're safe and well though, hopefully your car will be fixed soon too!

Because they're temperamental, you never know what will go wrong next, even if you do everything by the book you can't be 100% something won't just break for the hell of it. Not to mention only demanding the best fuel, oil and the amount you could spend on detailing products could easily amount to more than one pair of Jimmy Choo's and an Alexander McQueen necklace

                Update!

                Hi guys,

So little update for everyone who is as seriously depressed as me that a DS3 has been injured....

Picked up from my house on yesterday...apparently the guy ragged it up the street and back down and onto the truck :/

Now got this for a courtesy car :/ Suzuki Alto 1L 68BHP Petrol - Going to cost me a fortunate going 80 miles to work everyday? How do companies justify this? Even a diesel
                replacement would have been better?

                Stupid.......

Poor DS3 its such a horrible feeling seeing your pride and joy being put onto a recovery lorry! Hopefully be back soon good as new

That courtesy car is a joke too.. can you not request a diesel or is it just what they decide to give to you?

                      Some good news....I think

So heard back from the garage today....

                      No engine/suspension or structural damage!!

New headlight, front bumper and side wing all needed. The clutch linkage was snapped so this has already been replaced

I'll leave for you guys to tally up the parts cost, is my £550 excess worth it?

What've the dealership quoted you for the work?

Do you have any NCB on your insurance, will you lose these if you claim?

If you go thru insurance, its usually well expensive
Had a dink on my old THP 150, a crease about a foot long on the tailgate
Citroen repair quoted about £1100, I was flabbergasted (Yes it happens sometimes)
Got it done private for £190, by a friend admittedly

Saw damage on a friends DS3 recently, rear light, some heavy duty scratches, and the rear wing pushed to the wheel
Cost around £1400... I couldn't believe that either. Would have guessed £700

So going through insurance does get the job done well, but at a high cost
As said above, would you loose no claims? and obvs your £550 excess would have to be paid
Even if you have protected no claims, it still goes down as a claim, and you cant have more than 2 in 5 years (Then you loose no claims)

Why not get a quote for cash? (IE Not through the insurance)
