Yes- mine was at 18,800 miles when it went into Citroen with carbonned up inlet valves. They sorted it after a couple days, with something similar to walnut blasting, and am guessing around 36,000 miles it may well happen again. I was using BP Ultimate unleaded, and promptly changed to Shell V-Power. 5000 miles later the ECU went pop (Similar stuttering etc etc. Nothing to do with fuel type)

I'm cynical to the fact that I don't think any fueltype will help the inlet valve issue. Would like to know how much Citroen charge for the inlet valve clean when out of warranty, although think it could be hundreds, as much as £800. All labour charge pretty much, I guess. Will ask them before the final payment is made....

So Chris you had this problem too?

      Mine is approaching 18,000 miles
A lot of us have had this problem with your engine model.

My first failure resulted in a replacement engine from Citroen, second time it happened it was down to me to pay the £3k repair bill.

Thanks,a high speed motorway run that gives maximum gas flow through everything at max temperature. Especially good for getting older cats upto MOT spec

Fish...3k! That must have been painful

Italian tune up sounds like a good idea (I've done a little google research) and saying that...i've had the car just over a year, probably only ever been on the motorway 2-3 times...so not a lot

Valid excuse when we get pulled over by the police? 'Yeah sorry for doing 130mph, just doing the old italian clean up...need to keep my inlet valves happy' hahaha:bow:

How exactly do you think that will clean your valves. Because it will not.

                        Engine Fault Repair Needed

 I have the same fault that others reported. Just went to turn the key fan runs loud then goes off. Start the engine and ....bleep engine fault. I only had this car for over a year and its got 15866 miles on the clock with me being the second owner. I thought I did well for a low mileage 3 year old at the time, now I'm starting to regret it. I won't ever buy a THP again.
My next cars a Nissan Pulsar Techna, guess I just don't need the hassle anymore. Any thought on the prices for a fuel pump being fitted, if thats what this is? I will find out the error fault code once I get Torque app running, this bag of bolts is heading to a dealers tomorrow.

Well it turns out it was cylinder 1,3,4 misfire and superknock detected. Recommended a decoke on the valves at 894 quid. Car ran out of warranty a month ago as well. Got them to reset the engine warning and sold the car. I felt the blame put on me for just using the car driving about the city, it cokes up the valves more apparently. At 15600 miles this cars a problem I don't need.

Strange odors emanating from your heating system, such as musty or burning smells, should not be ignored. These odors could indicate issues with the electrical components, overheating, or even the presence of mold or mildew within the system. Superior Indoor Air Quality Solutions
