  • DS3 reversing light fault

Hi, i have a non functioning reverse light. Checked the bulb, wiring, switch and all fuses, still nothing.
Could this be a BSI issue? Anyone any ideas?! Thanks

    Welcome to the club

Sounds like you've checked the obvious issues, a dealer visit would be my next stop (assuming you're still under warranty).

      Thank you

Not under warranty so reluctant to visit the dealer! It may be a case of living with it if it is a BSI fault.

Is there a wiring diagram available anywhere?

Might be one here. If not, ask on that thread and Bigfeet may be able to add it.

Wow. Some great info. I will ask Bigfeet if he can help.
            Thanks

I suspect you have a fine covering of powder on the pins of the gearbox switch/connector.

I had this on my 206 GTi180 once. I bridged a wire across the connector and the reverse lights came on when the ignition was on, so I assumed it was a dodgy switch on the gearbox.

After cleaning the connector and switch pins with electrical cleaner then spraying it with Maxsolve 200 spray it worked again and never had a problem afterwards.

I'll mention that Maxsolve 200 is not WD40
              Regards,

I don't think Maxsolve is available in the UK, it does appear similar to WD-40 though

Thanks for the idea but already bypassed the reverse switch and still no light.
I am pretty much down to the BSI but not actually confirmed this yet. Was hoping to find a pin out for the BSI but had no luck.
