Aye, sadly Citroen dealers are few and far between near me.

On a side note, does anyone know how DS are planning to roll out their special dealers? I thought Citroen dealers had to pass certain criteria to deal with DS now. My dealer certainly doesn't do them any favours as a brand...

It is a pity that you can't try another dealership as you say they are too far away. I have never had any trouble with mine over 15 years of Citroen ownership. Always have a free loan car. They try hard for good will payments from Citroen UK when my cars are out of warranty.
Our other car is a KIA and over 3 years of ownership, each year's service has been done by a different dealership. One charged for loan cars and was expensive, the next was really close to my home but it just didn't feel good, and this year I am traveling 15 miles to go to a new dealership that offer free loan cars and free MOT.
So it really is worth traveling around til you find a good dealership that you can build a relationship with.

If it's not under warranty try an independent garage who's labour rates are lower than citroen 's £90+ an hr

I live in Nottingham but travel to citroen in Derby as they always look after me .
I went to the nottingham one once and they just didn't seem at all interested .

It's not the labour rates that are the problem; apparently this price of £1000 was before labour.

As I said, it's still got 5,000 miles of warranty left - so the pricing isn't an issue at this point in time, but given a few months, it would've been.

I'd have to try somewhere along my route to work as my commute is 50 miles a day either way, which of course presents itself with another issue - the dealers being open before and after work to allow drop off and collection of the car.

It'll be due its service in a few thousand miles so I may try another one then.

I'd be buying an extended warranty unless your going to sell it soon.

If DS have premium aspirations, they need to get the basics right, and they absolutely 100% aren't cutting it at present.
Is this something that you are telling the dealer?

                      It's on a 3 year PCP; I won't be keeping it.

Going in tomorrow to get fixed... and the power steering failed this morning. It gets worse!

The power steering fault could be related to the failing alternator.

Got the car back and it appears to be all fixed. Apparently the dashboard alerts, failed stop/start, failed cruise control and power steering failure were all linked to the alternator. Apparently.

It's a brilliant car when it works but such a frustrating all-round experience when it doesn't.
