A couple of weeks ago I got a fault code from the engine, the dealer gave me a quick software update, but of course that wasn't the solution, because a week later I had it again: engine fault message on screen, loss of power, fan blowing full power... Dealer said they would check it on the scheduled service last week.
So, what seems to be the problem? Where to begin.. Timing chain is streched, massive carbon build up (mechanic showed me on camera), axle of turbo sits loose, HPFP,... Long story short, it needs a new engine. Cost €7600 (warranty is only 2 years here). This car just had it's 3rd birthday last week, and has only 41000km on it. I think every person in the world agrees that no engine should fail so soon already. Since the car has had carbon build up twice and it's timing chain tensioner replaced in it's short life, I asked them what Citroen Belgium had to say about the matter. They hadn't contacted them yet, but will try this week. (I find it strange I have to specifically asked them to do that) If Citroen doesn't acknowledge that there is a problem, I don't know what I have to do. If I sell the car, I won't get a lot for it anymore, and I still have to pay the installment plan for 2,5y without even having a car.
And to make things even worse, I just put on 4 new tires and front brake discs and pads the day before it's "service". They have literally only done the drive to the dealer (2km).
I'm gutted since however it'll turn out (if Citroen wants to pay a part of the costs or if I have to sell the car), it'll end up costing me a lot of money (I don't even have). That said, fingers crossed that Citroen will be reasonable.
