  • Is it broken or have I forgotten how to drive it?

So my car recently went in because I had an engine fault and esp/apr warnings. Had no boost etc. This was a leak in my intercooler and a classic sensor fault.

Since last weekend I noticed that it rev'd up slightly when in first and second. I was having a bad day so thought it was probably user error.

But today it definitely is reving up when I change up gear. Also when I get into gear it dips so I loose momentum and the boost I had to move on and faster. I'm not sure if it is sitting at a higher rev in neutral or if I'm over analysing it.

Only notice it more when the engine is warmer. I think..... But I didn't notice it as much leaving work as I did say in traffic towards the end of my 45min drive home.

It's due a service in around 1k miles. The last was December 15. Done around 45k miles.

It's booked in on Tuesday. But does anyone have any ideas before it gets turned off and on again at Citröen?

Or is this normal sign of something needing replacing.

Sorry to hear your DS3 is poorly,I don`t know enough to make suggestions but I`m sure our resident techies will chip in shortly! Sounds like more than just a servicing remedy though.

Thanks Jez 😊 Had a quick Google and some suggested gaps in the intake. Maybe it is a result of something after the last time it was at the garage. Hope it's nothing big or a fault. If it's normal wear and something needs changing that's cool.

I just don't want to start on a slippery slope of trips to the garage with new faults.

Going to get Liam to take it for a little drive and see it it does it for him.

Good idea to check the basics first and hope that sorts the issue.

          Liam drove it - fine
          I drove it - fine

Not sure what would cause it to be intermittent. And you knoooow it won't do it for the garage.

Strange.....but if it has stopped misbehaving that is even better!

Kind of. But has been doing it before and I've got a big weekend of driving coming up. So I'll still get it checked out

I'm wondering if there is a fault in the throttle position sensor, that might explain the rise and fall in the revs. I would defo suggest you pop into your dealer to run a check.

It's booked in for Tuesday. Odd that it's not all the time though.

When it happens I feel like a right n00b.
