Hello, guys.
I am an owner of a '12 Citroen Ds3 with a thp 165 engine. I bought it used, march past, from an old woman, with no sons to blow the car away, with 18k miles.
The info i have is that she only drove this car from home to job and vice versa. Travelled with it 2 times. Made a test drive, took it in two mechanics to evaluate
any mechanical problem, and nothing was found. Both said the car was OK, so i bought it. First week i got it, it started that rattling noise when i start the engine
by the morning (i already know about the timing chain issue, and i will buy the parts i need to change ASAP. i managed to discover about it just few days ago).
Trusting in the mechanics, i thought it was any kind of heating procedure of car, since it last just a few seconds. Note: I still use the car just to go to work and back,
and other small routes. Also, made a 800 miles travel with it.
Sure as the engine was working fine, i started to make some mods in it. Now the car has a Stg 2 remap, 2.5' downpipe, Cold Air Intake with a K&N universal filter,
and a GFB Diverter Valve. At first the car where really good, very fun to be driven, but when i changed the spark plug to another model(NGK LAser Platinum LKR8AP),
as a recomendation by the guy who made the remap, it started to get "lazy". (the spark plugs are one heat range higher[9] then the OEM[8]).
I drove with these spark plugs for about 2-3 weeks, then i put the OEM back. Still it is slower then before, only mpg increased, and i dont feel any boost at all.
(Note: after this changes [remap, downpipe, etc.], the turbo was kicking really nice @2500-3000 rpm). Then i started to check on Torque Pro any fault codes, or any
difference in the operation of the turbo, air pressure, high pressure pump, and everything seemed fine.
Now i want ask you guys: what is possibly making my car lose that amount of power? Is the timing chain responsible for all that loss of power? Or this + any
build up could affect that much the car's performance?
