Ah I have the same recall.
I brought a new car so I didn't have to have problems like this. This therefore means I need to spend over 3 - 4 hours of my time and money for gas to get this vehicle to the dealership and the problem resolved.
I have asked since this car is now technically unsafe, I would like the dealership to come pick the car up and resolve the issue.
As expected from the dealership I have been asked to pay for such a service, personally I feel this is unreasonable. This is a problem not of my doing nor what I would expect from a new car. Services, Repairs as a result of my doing, MoT's, these are my responsibility and I accept and budget the costs incurred in getting the car to the dealership to resolve, in this case, I can't accept the costs involved.
As much as I love my DS3, I am not very much in love with this Citroen dealership right now.
Slightly annoyed

Why Don't You Just Use A Closer Dealer ?

Thats a rather strange attitude to take.
The recall process is design to help improve items on your car which have been identified through the network, the recall is done at Citroen France's cost, your dealership charges to work out to them. If you car was unsafe to drive then Citroen would indeed extend the recall to include this, this did happen once in my time so far.
At the end of the day you are welcome to continue driving your car, the recall is not compulsory....I should never have doubted the Lord of Bacon!!

Why Don't You Just Use A Closer Dealer
Bear in mind I use my car at weekends, I use London transport for getting to and from work. To take the car to the dealer in the morning means just shy of an hours drive in rush hour traffic, at least a 2 hour earlier start than normal and incurs additional costs (+3 zones) with regards to actually getting to work
Weekends are planned way in advance, so problems associated with a new car are something which I expect not to experience. Hence why I buy new. I am in essence happy to pay a small premium for zero trouble motoring.
I am however not chuffed to pay in terms of money and time for problems not attributed to my self.
Bigfeet - I'm not sure if it's my attitude or the dealerships attitude that's strange :-)
The point being however, this isn't my problem :-) , if according to Citroen my brand spanking new shiny car is now deemed unsafe to drive, why would I actually want to drive the car - even if it's 10 miles up the road?
The last thing I want to be doing is driving a bend, on a motorway, or anywhere to be honest where I am now flipping a coin and waiting for all power and electrics of the vehicle to fail - although probably unlikely, this in turn could be a cause for a collision with any number of obstacles including other human beings. Of course while driving anything can happen to cause a collision, but I much prefer reducing the odds
I think it would only be fair that Citroen take the car away and sort out the problem f.o.c. Personally they should flat bed it away to ensure 100% safety to their staff and other road users (but that's never going to happen)
Now I really should do some work :-)
