I cannie remember for sure if the doors unlocked when i had the 50-55mph crash in my previous white edition, but i don't recall the lock button light being on before i opened the door and didn't hear the locks disengage when i opened the door. And i'm not keen on having a re-run to confirm it either:rolleyes:

As Jelhead says when the airbags fire the circuit for the doors is cut which unlocks the doors.

Thanks for that, thought some one would know.

Relying on Citroen electrics to release you from a crash = Fail.

Turn off the autolock thing and get a real hammer to sort out any car jackers !

I had a bit of an incident in my C2 VTS (no officer she wasn't signalling to turn right when I overtook) which resulted in the airbags deploying.

My impression was that the car pretty much sorted itself out by activating both front airbags (but not the belt tensioners), cutting the engine, activating the emergency brake assist, headlights and everything electrical went off, and the doors unlocked I think.

It was all very quiet when the car stopped apart from the airbag explosions ringing in my ears, and I don't recall having to do anything other than get out to survey the damage. The damage was fairly superficial apart from a bent suspension strut so presumably no electrical fuses had blown and she did start up again afterwards

I should imagine things have moved on even further in the last few years

You don't just rely on the electrical system in a crash "the unlocking of doors in a crash is pretty standard on cars now" but for everything, Your gas pedal is electric do you trust it to do what your foot tells it to? Just about every switch you push the signal runs through a computer first. Things have been heading in this direction for years. We all have to face it our lives our run by computers

The only problem I can see with an Apple car would be that you would have to make sure that it was 'Jailbroken' in order to get out of it...
