  • THP 150 or 155?

Now I am a little confused of what car I have...

In Norway she is registered as a THP155, since the THP150 was never imported to Norway. ( as I have been told by 2 different car dealers)
But as Bigfeet states and has checked for me, I do have a 5FR (EP6DT) enigne, wich is the THP 150.

I've heard that there is an issue with the 5FR engine, that the timing can possibly run off and I'm stuck with my pistons all around in my engine compartment. That made me a little nervous, thankfully I still have 15 month of gurantee left on her.
I guess the gurantee will cover this if this would happen to me? since its a "known" problem?

So another question, what does the THP stand for?

155 has clearly 5 BHP more than the 150, but it says in my papers that I have 156 BHP originally.
    I'm so confused.

I should have just saved up a little longer and gotten the Racing

Both the THP 150 and 155 have 156 hp. The THP 155 has reliability updates and produces lower CO2.

        Thanks for the replies.

Are there anyone out there with the THP 150 that has had no porblems with their cars?

Or should I just suit up and get ready for it to break down on me?

Don't be negative. Yes people have had problems but there are plenty who have not had any issues. Just use and enjoy it and if it starts giving you problems get rid of it and move on to that racing.

            Thanks, you're right

I'm gonna enjoy here as much as she will let me.

            But another question:
I'm getting the a warning meassge "Airbag(s) or pretensioner seat belt(s) faulty."

Not all the time, just some times.. at first I thought it was cause my bag was in the seat, but now it has shown up with nothing in the passanger seat.
            Any idea?

skylaq- as I said in another thread, let engine warm for 1 minute before you drive, and stop for 1 minute before you turn engine off.
Dont use turbo and go fast till temperature is mid range.
Change oil and filter every year, and service regularly
Your car is great- go have fun and try not worry
Many, many more people have not had trouble, than have had trouble

The plug for the seat belt tensioner (runs under the seat normally) might have gotten a tug when the seat has been slid back too hard. Worth checking the plugs are slotted in place and get yourself along to your dealer to have them run a check.

                      Chris,

Thanks for the tips and advice.

it almost takes me a minute after I start the car to hook up my phone and get me seatbelt on before I get going
But I've never let her run for a minute before I turn the engine off, unless I've been doing some heavy driving right before I reach my destionation then I let her run for a bit.

I've never had a turbo charged car before, only superchargers.
But the first things my mate told me, NEVER ever use the turbo until she is varm and cozy.. haha..

                        Thanks Bigfeet,

I'll have a crawl and see if I can locate the plug and have a nudge at it to see if it helps, otherwise I'll just have to go nag at me dealer some more..

Yea, it was as Bigfeet mentioned, the plug was come off and had bad connection, they replaced it and has been fine ever since.
Hope you can have an easy fix for yours also!
