'Waxing' is a big problem at the moment and not just for Citroen as there are issues with Audi, BMW, Peugeot, VW, Etc. The thing is that Citroen state that this is a fuel problem and therefore is not a warranty issue. The main cause of 'waxing' is the cold as diesel which can cause it the freeze thus casuing the 'waxing' or clogging of the fuel fliters. The fuel companies are supposed to put in enough additive to stop 'waxing' but the cheaper fuel suppliers may not be doing this in order to shave costs.

The dealer network has been in talks with Citroen about this because of the cost of replacing the fuel fliters is being partly footed by the dealers. I will keep you posted once I learn more.

The only thing I could suggest is that you can buy special additives that help stop 'waxing' from happening.

I always thought that there was a british standard for fuels (petrol & diesel) and that if the fuel met these standards then your vehicle should work with them.
I know that there are only a handful of refineries around the country and as such the Esso refinery @ Fawley supplies ALL forcourts with the only differnce being any additives that are put into a particular brand.
My Dealer advised me to put tankful of a big brand in for every 3 from the supermarkets, to keep the system clean.
I am wondering if the current problems are due to condensation building up in the tank, and although the filter should have a water trap this might need emptying, as would happen I believe when a filter is changed.
So far I have been lucky, haven't blown a washer fuse or had issues with power loss, but I do have a small issue with the warning light taking what seems like an age to go out when starting the car (often stays on for 3-4 minutes)

The warning light that takes a while to go out (3-4 mins) is "Front passenger's airbag activation indicator lamp" according to my handbook

Hi John, is it by chance the passenger airbag light located in the middle right of the speedo? If so, from what the dealer told me when I collected the car this is normal behaviour and goes out after 30 seconds or so after switching the engine on. If the passenger airbag is deactivated then it will remain on.

The clock on mine obviously is running slow as it takes between 3 & 4 minutes to go out, I also was told that it was normal for it to stay on for 30 secs or so, its just a minor irritation

Sounds silly I know, but try 'hard resetting' your car by pulling out the Shunt fuse from inside the fusebox (the big grey fuse), count to ten and pop it back in. If your not sure which fuse I'm talking about let me know and I'll pop a pic.
