  • Puddle in rear passenger foot well!

    Hi guys
I'm new to the forum. So firstly hello. I've had to take my 13 plate ds3 sport to citreon this morning, as I had the biggest puddle in my rear footwell this morning. I checked I hadn't left my window open, lol. I am a typical blond and it is something I'd do. But on this occasion I hadn't.
There is absolutely no sign of where it might be coming from.
Has anyone had this happen?? Ill post later when I find out what it might be.
    Have a good day!
    Cat

Not heard of this before Cat, hope Citroen can fix it quickly and for you it should be under warranty....

Don't forget to post some pics of your car when you get a chance, we like to see every DS3 on the forum

Welcome to the club. Perhaps check the seal around the tailgate and check you boot space for water

I've had water pool in the spare wheel compartment several times before in my DS3. Same went for my previous DStyle. I found that the seam welding (at least I think it is a seam weld) is detached near the muffler bulge. Not a big issue though, it only happens if I drive through heavy rain.

Funny you mention this - my gf had a corsa that had the same problem a few years back. We couldn't find where the hell it was coming from. Turned out there was a leak in the sealing around the sunroof and the water was trapped between the bodywork and interior lining and could only get out by turning into a pond in the footwell!
And I know - this will be no help to you whatsoever but i just felt like sharing!!

I didn't even think to check the spare wheel well. It was parked uphill when it leaked so I've parked it down hill tonight, see if that makes any difference. It's booked in tomorrow until Monday evening, and they don't have a curtesy car available :-(
Ill check the well in the morning, but the garage didn't even suggest that yesterday. But I'm not surprised since when i orded it,they didn't know what the sort spec was :-/ I had to them.

Might be best to provide them with a printout or link to the PDF I posted also.

Take that back in with you and see if it's of any assistance to them.

                            UPDATE!!
Citreon have just called and said they can not find any fault with the car. Their solution is that I don't park on a hill, when its raining as they think the gullys must be getting full and the water has no where to go other than In the car. Is this executable, I haven't paid £18k for the car but if I'd have done, I'd be upset that they suggested I don't park my car on my drive in the rain. It's not even a hill, it's more of a slope. :-(

Unless you're actually parking in a river, it sounds like they're taking the piss.
