    Great idea John.

Lets start the ball rolling then.

My dealer City Motors in Bristol has been excellent so far. My dash has now started to rattle and I'm getting an annoying clicking sound coming from the drivers seatbelt mount. Won't have any problems putting it into them for fixing.

It was the Stockton branch. However, that said, I can't fault them now after having spent some time with the fella this morning as we took my car out for a test drive to try and pinpoint this problem. Long story short, rattle still there - however, he's had the door apart, went through it with a fine tooth comb and couldn't determine what's causing it, needle/haystack. The faulty battery light was an omission by them as they hadn't tightened the belt properly and it flagged on the dash as a fault, which is kinda noble in a way, I said I'd rather know if it was in fact their error rather than an intermittent fault, so I'm happy with that. I was simply more concerned with there something loose that would fall out and bugger up the window mechanism, I can live with rattle for now, if it gets worse though, he said just bring it back down.

All in all, just the pressure of that particular night with everything coming down on poor old me's head and I felt disgusted by it all. Having had time to chill and talk to the bloke that's doing the work, feel a lot better and a bit more confident in them now than I did before. Key thing to learn from this, talk directly to the service department themselves, preferably whoever's looking at your car and NOT the front of house - as they just spill out the copy'n'paste responses.

Glad your faith in humanity (well, Citroen service staff) has been restored.

It's frustrating when the telephone answering staff decide that all the information that you give on faults isn't relevant. They're not all like that though.
I've used an independant garage for my last couple of cars for various bits and pieces. Every time I've gone in to drop my car off, I see the job cards, and they're always filled with lots of detail from when the booking was made.

Could that be because it's a couple of guys who answer the calls for the service department I wonder?

To be honest dude, I've got full confidence in the service team, the guy came across as very knowledgeable and sympathetic to my concerns. It's just, you don't get that same kind of experience when you're talking on the phone to someone who's main job it is IS to just take phones and do admin type stuff. My advice for this place, or anyone really, would be to make sure you speak to one of the service team or even better, the person who'll be looking at your car directly.

As I said earlier, was just everything on that night and I was in a rush and nowt was going right. I still give them the thumbs up.

It works both ways, Phil - my wife's an engineer, and knows more about how machines work (and why things break - she's an expert in fatigue failure) than I ever will. Over the years she's got used to the patronising remarks whenever she takes her car in for service/repair. They usually catch on pretty quick, but if they don't, pity help them - they get a withering cross-examination of their competence that would make you wince.

I usually stand back and enjoy the floor-show. Cocky, sexist heating engineers are her speciality. No contest!

Ha ha ha, good point. Never considered that till now. But yeah, nowt worse to have someone eavesdropping on you especially if you're slagging them off!
Nope, I'm very happy with my wash Bob, will probably speak to that guy directly about the servicing as well when it's due.

I could certainly imagine, this would be a very good event to behold! Give us a shout when you're next on for this, it would be worth the drive down just to experience!

Fair point. Should I have qualified that and said a couple of guys who used to work in the service department.

My wife is pretty good at the withering thing too.
We were looking around at different colours at different dealers. One of them started trying to tell me that the model he had was a Dstyle, and she pointed out that it was a DSign...
The poor guy...didn't take the hint, and started with 'I'm sorry madam, but I think you'll find that the alloy wheels come on the Dstyle...'.
He still tried to argue when she pointed out the non-tinted windows.
                    The fool.
I could see him deflate when she asked him to point out where the LEDs were on that particular DStyle.

I was so proud, it bought a tear to my eye.

Now if the sales guy was a bright spark he would have pointed at the brake light!

I got mine from Charters in Aldershot, Pug & Citroen dealer. Great salesman but the service dept is crap.

I had to have a new inner wheel arch fitted due to it falling out, they agreed to order the part and call me when it arrived, after nearly 2 weeks, no call so i phoned them to be told it had arrived the week before and that they had called me, strange that as the number I gave which, as a sales rep, is never switched off and no messages had been left. They had also previously taken a £500 deposit from my wife for a Pug 206CC which turned out to have been pranged so we cancelled the order but surprise surprise, the deposit was non-refundable. Thieving gits

So, when my 1st service was due, I went to Citroen Service Lysons Avenue, Ash, Surrey GU12 01252 373 716

                        Great price and service

Not sure what will become of my check up tommorow, i rang up today and gave them the following list of things:

                          Passanger door's dropped
                          Stripes peeling off the roof
                          Dash Rattles
Panel in the back rattles when speakers are on (even when the speakers are quiet)
                          Very whiney gearbox/syncro (cold/hot/whenever)
                          Bonet isnt alligned correctly
General engine taping until its had a good good warm up

Now im hoping they dont feck me over, ill make the biggest scene ever if it doesnt all get sorted.
