Another victim, my washers failed this afternoon as well.

Quick trip to Halfrauds for new fuses and all is well. Strangely, my jets didn't freeze (car was garaged last night) and they just stopped working so hopefully the 15amp fuse will sort things out.

    Fingers crossed...

Me too and I'm sure if your pump went and it was discovered that a 15 amp fuse was in Citroen would wash their hands of the matter?

Washer fuses popping is a very common thing with old C2, C3, C3 Picasso and now DS3, when we first noticed this was happening we checked with Citroen Technical for info rapids and it was one of Citroen's people who advised us to change the fuse.

I would say that with all of the customesr we have had who have changed the fuse, not had anyone come back with a problem. (crap cursed it now!)

So are you saying that the warranty would replace the washer pump if there was a fault if the fuse had been changed for a 15 amp?

Sorry if I sound sceptical but I had a costly experience a few years ago when My wife had a Fiesta, days after purchase we had the dog in the boot and he chewed the wiring going to the boot light, Bearing in mind that I am a qualified electronic engineer I made good the wiring by using an in line splice. Two years after this we had a warning light come on (Engine management) this happened 1 week past the three year warranty, It turned out that the loom termination into the fuse box had corroded making some of the connections to open cct, I asked Ford to consider that this should not have corroded on a car three years old. Ford agreed that this should not have occurred but stated that because of the repair made to the wiring in the boot they would not bear the cost of the loom replacement !!!!! leaving me with a bill for £1500 for the loom replacement.

If your worried about it then just carry a couple of 10amp fuses with you instead, I know it's a pain with the cold weather and all but it doesn't take too long to swap out a dud fuse to get yourself going again.
