Thanks, so it is a antifreeze and coolant mix I'm needing to put in. Will have to get the car to the dealer.

I thought you were looking for replacement liquid for the header bottle ? Personally I'd put in the anti-freeze listed above but if you have warranty cover on the car definitely get the dealer to look it over to find out why the bottle was empty.

Yes it's the coolant header tank that is completely dry. The car is only 16 months old so within the 3 year warranty period.

Ok, personally I'd be worried about how much is in the system (might need a small top up ?) but deffo get it into the dealer asap. I think there was another thread on this before, I'll see if I can find it....

Try these, might be the water pump or thermostat given the posts below:-

Thanks for the help. I'll buy some fluid tomorrow to top up and then get it into the dealer.

Are water pumps included within the 3 year warranty?

Should be warranty indemnified, yes. Hardly a wear and tear item
Unless you are deemed negligent- IE Driving with less than lowest level water in the reservoir (Top it up when you take it in)

Mine was replaced under warranty so I would say yes

I filled up the header tank, only needed 0.5 litre of coolant. Ran the engine for 10 minutes and the level has not dropped. Leaving now for a 22 mile drive to the dealer and will see how it is once I arrive.

Car now with the dealer, coolant level had dropped below minimum over the 22 mile drive. Awaiting a call to discover what the problem is.

As suspected I have been told that the car needs a new water pump and thermostat.

Sorry to hear that, it did seem to point to that based on the other linked threads didn't it ? Is it all being done under warranty ?

Yes all covered by the warranty so that takes the sting out of the news. It's clearly a issue with the 155 engine too.
