With the diesel I find it's not the speed but the revs that make a difference.

Your car has hardly any miles on it so i would said that your flapping about the MPG at the moment. The thing is no-one does 'book' MPG and I would have to say that they would be naive to think they could. I always advise people to take 20% off the official figures and that is more likely what you will achieve, for your model I would suggest an average MPG of 50-55 with 60 being the best.

I did a 283 mile round trip today and traffic was relatively slow but at a consistent speed loads of 50 mph zones in road works and believe it or not I got for the whole trip average mpg 70.5 in my dsport 110 !!! on the way down it was 72.3mpg according to my trip computer, I was really trying to see what I could get out if it on this journey as the flow of traffic allowed the chance to test the economy and I was really impressed! I usually average 57mpg.

Hopefully ill be replying back here in a few months to say I'm getting 57, but right now it's still 50.

Strangely I reset again and today drove over to Manc over snake pass, very windey fun road. So was driving it fairly hard and using a fair rev range. Arrived with 50mpg. Spent almost all day pottering around town, viewing flats and looking at areas, often pulling over for 5mins with the engine running & only dropped to 48.

Back over snake and it's back to 50! So whilst it's not getting what I want on the motorway, it doesn't seem to matter how the hell I drive it or what traffic I hit!
