Its not that unusual an issue a water pump going on vehicles? Happens on many a car, in addition to the DS3

Keep loving your diesel burner Monkey....a fair few of them have issues too you know

Remap is on the list and like you I have owned some gass guzzling nutter bonkers cars and at the mo this fits the bill the mileage and the travel I do at the mo cannot warrant the Millennium Falcon so the mid 50's and no road tax is cool ...............next on the list is back to Henry with a Focus RS

I agree the concept of the DS3 is brilliant but it is not helped by bad engine problems which also include the racing .

You get bad in every manufacturer and in my life I have not been brand loyal just moved when a car appealed to me in the last ten years its been all new Seats Cupra range ....... new Evo 8 new St Focus all with a few niggly problems mainly trim and like Seats coil pack problem in the early days but the failures we are hearing with the THP are longlife items and you well know its not just hear say its real. You cannot stop people telling the truth or looking through Rose Tinted Glasses

How many people come on here and say "I got in my Ds3 and it drove fantastic all week this does not happen on any Forum they come on to ask questions about tuning how this works etc and ohh this has broke ........................its the way of the Forum world

                      As was said earlier Monkey
What posts on here with the major engine issues on the 155 ?(Timing chain, PCV issues ect)

One Turbo issue, a couple HPFP issues. water pump issues, A timing chain issue, not much at all

Do me a favour- list 6 things (Major) that THP 155 owners out of all 4000 owners on here have had

Then I may listen to you a bit more

                      Thanks :-)

Further update: the car was with my dealer all day yesterday. The outcome - they have concluded from the error codes that a new turbo is required.
All day to figure that out from the error codes - must have a very slow laptop! Apparently the mechanic "fiddled about with the turbo and it's wiring/connections" for a bit and took the car out on a 10 mile road test and the turbo is now "better than it was before".
I asked if there might be a link between the failure of the water pump and the ensuing high temperatures in the engine and the turbo failure and was told categorically not! A pure coincidence.
So the car goes back in next week when the part arrives. This means that it will have been back with the dealer for a total of 8 days in 7 weeks. Pretty reliable eh?
I've sent snotograms to both Citroen UK and Citroen Leasing - no reply.
I've totally lost confidence in this car now. I've only got it for another 11 months and will then buy anything but a Citroen.

Hey I really feel for you now seems like you are getting into my territory now .Once you have lost confidence in the motor it may be time to move on but when I did it was a big financial hit but as I bought another Citroen it eased the hit slightly

Yet again another long life item fails with minimum mileage

So do I have to find another 5 examples now Chris

Point taken- there must be, what, 300 THP 155 owners at a guess on here?
The 150 certainly had a higher strike rate of problems, and earlier it was, the more problems it seems
TBH glad I didn't buy a Racing. Came close, put an offer of £19k on a Black/orange with 1000 mile on it

Alimac- at least if its the Turbo, its not PCV, timing chain, or piston related. Someone on here had a Brand new 155, and the turbo was knackered after 2000miles odd
Just happens occasionally Im afraid. Its whether the problems now multiply
Its the dreaded hesitation that's the problem that needs sorting. And even if you get that sometimes its easily sorted.

Thanks for the comments Monkeynuts & Chris_Blue.
If the turbo failure was an isolated incident I would accept it as one of those things, but a cracked water pump after 9K miles and a failed thermostat/coolant sensor all within a few weeks of each other ...................Hmmm.
I also think that I've got a problem with my climate control (or at least a sensor somewhere in the system) as it blows cold air when set at 20C when the outside temperature is at 10C. Maybe all is well and I'm just looking for trouble, but a lack of confidence does that for you!
