Probably driven several hundred thousand miles over the years, and me neither
But have been stuck a few times, and skidded etc so thought would give them a try
        First ever

              • Well I would- get some trims and get them dipped / painted or something. Jazz the winter wheels up a bit
Steels just look nasty IMO LOL

Can get Continentals Sports (New) at very good price for my summers tyres, but theyre 215s?
Still fancy the Michelin Pilot Sport 3s- great write up

                      • Just add my two pence worth into this conversation. I have two DS3 one DStyle with Michelin 195/55/R16 which have done 34,000 miles and still have 4mm on the front and 5mm on the back of tread. The DSport also has Michelin 205/45/R17 and has done 9,000 miles and there is 7mm on all tyres.

This year will be the first I am running winter tyres due to go on mid November. I have bought Michelin Alpin A4 and PA3. Have spare rims for both and recently got a deal off eBay of four brand new rims with Michelin tyres that had done only 15 miles. There are some good deals to be had on eBay if you look around in so far as wheels and rims. There are quite a few black Bellones for sale at present if you do want a set of spare rims for winter.

Have also bought in the past from Camskill and would recommend them but Tyre shopper is also good as the price often includes fitting at your local National tyre centre.

More expensive, and bigger surface are to aquaplane are the cons

                          • And with 215s depending on the car the tyre may hit the wheel arch on bumps. Also (depending on the car) wider tyre may throw more dirt to the sides of the car.

                            • Theres a fair bit of room round the wheel arch on mine
But point taken, And about the dirt
The 7J rim does specify 205 and 215s tyres are fine
