However the wheel arch was not replaced properly by one of their mechanics when it was in for a service last time...not even sure why it was removed, but of course I couldn't "prove" that.
Anyway after a lot of haggling and given the car needed to be returned to the leasing company within a week we settled on £500 and although I was pretty hacked off at having to pay out I was also just happy to see the back of it.
and.....no I didn't go for a non French car as a replacement. We ended up with a Peugeot 2008, which has actually been fantastic. It goes back in August and I have to admit we are now looking at Citroen again...possibly the Cactus. What can I say? I just like French cars
So Charlotte my guess would be a bad connection somewhere.

Hi, I have a 2011 1.6hdi, with 48000 miles on the clock, that I purchased direct from Citroen London West when it was 3 months old and had 1300 miles on the clock, that has inadvertently come up with a "engine fault repair needed" along with the "service" message in the dash pod , also the stop/start has turned itself off and will not let you re activate it. I did fit a new (Bosch stop/start) battery at about 37000 miles, following the guidelines, allowing the car over 15mins to shut all electronics down before removing and replacing the battery.
Along with this issue, the information/radio/navigation display keeps turning itself off while the vehicle is in use, and when it comes back on it has returned to French as its language and resets the dash odometer from miles to kilometres. To add to this when the vehicle has been locked and left, it will turn the information/radio/navigation system on by itself and will not turn back off until you re insert the key in the ignition and start the car then turn off again, sometimes this will have to be repeated a few times to get it to stay off.
I have had this plugged in at my local garage, to see if anything has been recorded in its memory, but nothing has been logged, next to this having being attacked by some sort of "Citroen Gremlin", and before I take it to my local Citroen dealer for them to ask me "how much would I like to spend to fix the problem", I thought that I would try the Forums first, in the hope that I can't be the only person to have ever experienced this problem.

You'll need to plug it in to diagnostics to see what the fault is, if you ask on a forum nobody really knows the exact cause of your faults and you might end up changing random parts you don't need.
If you want to do it yourself you can use Lexia, or else take it to a dealer.
From my experience you only get ECO if the battery is flat, and that will also disable start stop as you don't have enough battery so it won't keep stop starting. As I said before, before you go and buy a new battery, plug it in to Lexia, it could be a bad connection or an earth problem somewhere, all will be simple once the computer tells you what you need to do though

Hello Folks,Happy new year
Just joined the forum. I have a 3.5 year old C4 Grand Picasso with 77k kms on board. The car was running fine before I went on vacation for 4 weeks. But as I returned back and started my Vehicle. I am getting Engine fault Message, with Service and Eco Off blinking. The Faults are intermittent, but Eco is not working. Other than that the car is running fine and no issues. I tried to get the error codes read from a local mechanic and the following error codes are present( All intermittent)
P1382- Ancillary Drive belt fault in coherence between engine Speed and the Alternator speed.
U1332- Communication on LIN Error of length or Prohibited value of the reversible alternator data stream
P1536- Measurement of the brake pedal position- Incoherence between the two brake sensors detected under deceleration
U1133- Communication on LIN- The reversible alternator is confirmed absent
U1134- Communication on LIN No communication with the voltage retaining device
U1400- Registering of a fault on the LIN network
All the fault codes are intermittent.
Based on the above code looks like there is some issue with Alternator circuit or alternator itself. Someone suggested it can be due to issue with Battery also, but I do not see any battery low message.
Please suggest if any of you have faced same problem and how it was resolved. Do you know what is the cost of alternator and battery?
Thanks
