There are two locations to fit a catch can, for simplicity lets call them 'top' and 'bottom'. A catch can is easy to fit to the top but in my experience doesn't do a huge amount of catching (mostly moisture). Fitting a CC to the bottom is (so i am told) very tricky but does weald far greater results.
Since my last walnut blast i have run a CC at the top, used 98 RON fuel and done all the other things recommended to minimise the carbon build up but unfortunately the design of the engine being direct injection is always working against you.
Will be interesting to see the state of the valves when i get it blasted again.
