Suspension sqeak/knock? :-/

Nope new top mount...that metal tube should be bonded to the rubber and sit perfectly flat, but in the second picture you can see how much of an angle it is. The new mount that turned up looks slightly different, as if they modified the part

Ouch! That old mount looks truly knackered.

So is this a one-off, Herby, or something that other owners may experience, further down the road?

Master tech that done the job told me the way they designed it might become more common after time. citroen obiously gathered that there would be play in the mount, because as soon as we took it off it was caked with grease where the mount meets the top of the inner wing.

Thanks, useful info. Mine has a similar sounding noise, will mention strut mount to dealer.

Yep, had strut mounts replaced and issue resolved.

Afternoon to you all. Did you have both changed at all. Or just one of them? I've got the same problem. And I've had the nearside one changed and the anti roll bar link changed. But it's still making the same noise.

Totally peeved off with mine, sent in to garage a few weeks ago due to broken spring, told them to change the springs damper etc while they had it off, got it back with a knock. Had a look under the bonnet and the passenger side strut was sat 4” above the wheel arch mounting, went back and the apologised they hadn’t changed the top mount fixing and would sort replacements. Picked it up and again knocking from other side! Looked under tonight and they have only changed one and the same thing happened to the other side!!
