scraped alloys , taking the look off car

hi,
sometimes the back sensors are not working and i park too close to kerbs resulting in alloys scraping against kerbs, alloys are now scraped and take the nice lokk off the car.

what is cheapest way to get these fixed / restored to new ?

notice for anyone out there , do not like me park too close to kerbs, we are all probably used to driving other cars and sometimes scratch alloys with little or no damage but ds3 alloys as you know will scrape with the least hit against a kerb .

In hindsight, do what i do to protect the alloys and tilt the passenger wing mirror glass slightly downwards with the remote on the drivers door. Also rear parking sensors will not detect kerbs.

The cone of view that the parking sensors sees is a little too narrow for the system to pick up kerb sides when parking. As for the alloys there are numerous different companies offering alloy wheel refurbishment so a quick look in the Yellow Pages for your area should turn up a few.

You might also want to think about becoming a full member in order to take advantage of the club discount for Alloy Wheel protectors, details in the members section I believe.

Parking sensors are not and have never been designed to warn you of kerbs.

You can get them repaired at alloy wheel refurbers and for the future use AlloyGators, RimBlades or RimBands. Alloygators being the best if you're a constant kerber.

You may also want to think about opening your eyes a bit more and learning to drive a bit better. Been driving 6 years and I've never kerbed a wheel while parking - even on low profile tyres.

Always use your mirrors. Not sure why you'd think parking sensors are for kerbs considering the wheel position and the sensors being on the bumper....

Hadnt kerbed a a wheel for almost a year- 4 inch scrape 2 week ago
I reckon an average of 1-2 a year, however skilled a driver- or your just lucky

In your case skorpio, may be best to fit steelies :-)
