  • What kind of USB stick works best?

    Morning,

I've recently brought a DS3 DStyle Plus and was wondering what kind of USB stick works best?

The sound via bluetooth is crackly - Could be because i've got loudness setting on though? Haven't tried it without yet.

Is the USB port in the DS3 (2015 model) USB 2 or 3?

    Thanks,

    Welcome to the club

    I use this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005FYNSZA/

It's small enough you can almost close the flap over it so I just leave mine in the car all the time.

Thank you! Excited to finally be apart of it

I never thought about size, thanks for this - Quite an awkward place for a USB port. Small the better Is music quality generally better over USB than Bluetooth?

When i first got the DS3 i had an Ipod Nano the slimline one if anyone remembers 4th or 5th gen it fits perfectly in the little cut out bit under the armrest and you can buy a short good quality AUX cable for relatively cheap money and that works a treat. Audio quality is "Tip Top" Because its a short cable and it just goes straight back it doesn't get in the way.
                Bwaaahhhhhh and Pshhttt erryday!

Just got one of those as my current one plays up, don't know whether its the USB Stick or the player, but it regularly comes up with errors of 'Failed to read disk' when I'm listening to the radio and not even using the USB.

I'd try a few difference USB devices, if they all do the same but work ok in other devices (PC/laptop etc) I'd guess it's an issue with the port and you should get it booked in with your dealer.

Been using bluetooth streaming with iPhones since I got my DS3 in 2011 and have never experienced any crackling.

Bluetooth streaming on my newer 208, however, has been an issue on the odd occasion (especially if I've been skipping tracks).

Perhaps it's an issue on newer cars with the satnav display?
                        Regards,

                        Simon

I had the crackly bluetooth and mine were a 2012 and 2013 DS3 without the satnav screens.

The 32gb (the 64gb thumb drive isn't recognised) drive works brilliantly so I've stuck with that

I have exactly this one in mine and it works perfectly also have had no problems with BT or aux. I also tried mp3 player into usb and that was also no problems.

I had a call from the dealers regarding a recall to do with the radio/sat-nav yesterday, so in about 3 weeks I'll see if the update fixes my USB playing issues
