Hah, actually the worst light ever is the front roof one with zenith windshield It's absolutelly useless. I thought about buying the lining too, but it makes it harder and more expensive, and those are the only reasons I am considering this OEM one Do You know some other possible ways of installing it without losing space? There is an option to build DIY sub box and fit it in this OEM space, or put it under the boot instead of spare tire. My only concern is, will it be working good covered with boot floor and optionally some luggage?

Don't know about subs and speakers, but I switched out my interior and boot lights for W5W Canbus LEDs and wow does it make a huge difference!

There are various options you could go for.

Obviously if you really want audio quality and decent sounding bass a standalone sub and amp is going to produce the absolute best results, this of course is a little expensive although doesn't have to be depending again on just how much of an audio quality increase you want and what kind of budget you have?

If keeping your boot space is important than getting the oem one and replacing the boot lining is going to be a visible option.

If you wanted a sub to go into your spare wheel compartment this would work, it's usually hard to tell where bass is coming from exactly so having this under the boot lining may make a minor difference but not much, this however would require it to be specially made to fit in there which would need to be made by hand to do so or find one that luckily fits, so probably the more fiddly and costly/timing option.

So I guess the question is what is your budget if you don't mind me asking and what do you value more, audio quality or boot space?

You wont fit an aftermarker subwoofer and amplifier in that space without compromising sound quality. I'd go as far to see you'd probably ruin the sound if you put a 5inch sub in the space available. I'm not even sure you can get 5inch subs.

Why not look at an underseat subwoofer instead?

Berch if I've understood correctly he's looking at adding the sub in the space next to the OEM sub (see video above)..

Wheel well is another option but you'd need to remove your boot lining permanently so it's not muffled.

Ahh yes that one. My Mums DS3 has this hifi system. Just went out and took some pictures.

To be honest the sound quality from it is pretty good, obviously again not going to sound anything like if you had an amp and sub box but the sound improvement is noticeable.

As WTF says, going to a local dealer and listening to something with the system might be an option to get an idea if that kind of improvement is what you want and then go from there.

There is also the center dash speaker that is part of the hifi system.

Well well you learn something new. I didn't know about the boot sub, so been out to have a look and lo and behold I do have the boot in the top pic and an OEM sub. I even put on some tunes to double check. Thanks for the info all.

Wow, thanks for such a massive response! Starting from the begining, I've just installed Aglintled ultra powerful LEDs for the front roof lights and the difference is really huge! Now I'm waiting for another LEDs for whole car but less powerful because those are almost too bright even for these little front lights. Nevertheless I totally recommend looking at Aglintled, especially they're on Amazon UK. Going back to whole sub case, going to the dealer might help. I totally forgot that ds3 is stil being produced as I was thinking about c3 which is not About bootspace, I don't want to have anything "laying" on the outside considering I'm using this car as my one-for-all purposed with going on long holiday and so on. As for the budget it's hard to tell because I'm in Poland and prices are different but I was thinking about spending ~£60 for the sub+ around £35 for front speakers. It sounds radicolous in pounds, but as a comparison I can buy a used OEM sub for around £30.

Do You have any experience in mounting underseat sub in ds3? I have c3 but it doesn't matter i guess. That would be the perfect option for me and I could even consider spending more money then, but is it possible in my car?

It boils down to physical dimensions so get a tape measure and get to work finding one that fits.

You'll also need an amplifier to power the sub.

Where are you planning to mount it if it's not going to sit in the boot?

The under-seat subwoofers have a built in amp. They're a bit more expensive than putting it all together yourself but installation should be the same as installing any other audio components.

Yeah, I've counted an amp into this price. There are pretty much 3 options. First one is to use a boot wall space like OEM sub, second one is to put it under the boot in a wheel compartment and the third one is to use a underseat sub. I've just read that underseat ones are not worth it especially that c3 is not so spacious there.
