This still isn't clear, are only USB sticks restricted in terms of files format and 128kb etc? Or does this extend to ipods as well or can ipods plug in and any file type or size kb be played? Fir example my ipoid has aac files and mp3 usually in 320kb format. Please could someone with an ipod confirm?

Thing with MPEG4 is that was developed to be used for media streaming rather then music which is why many systems don't bother to support it....I should never have doubted the Lord of Bacon!!

Thats true, didn't think anybody used .OGG or .WAV files these days.
To be honest MP3 format is your best bet because unless you are a proper audiophiliac you will never really tell the difference in compression quality at higher rates anyway. Go MP3 and you can control the compression size to allow for more music on your USB....I should never have doubted the Lord of Bacon!!

But yeah you're right, 320kb MP3 is what I use, I have one WAV file and I can't tell the difference in the car
