  • boot mounted sub

ive done a search without success to find out what size the sub is in my boot before i try to buy a better one. another question is would it be a big difference between the std oem sub and a decent after market one? can i use a sub in a box under the seat and power it off the subs amp if its got one?

    sorry for all the questions.

Best Thing To Do Would Be To Remove The Existing Rear Sub And Hardwire In A New One To The Same Wires,

Im Thinking Of Doing This Myself...

Do it, i might replace it aswell. It's not bassy enough although I will say it's adequate

I think that the subwoofer fitted is either an 8" or 10" unit, but it is sealed in it's own unit should I would imagine that you would need to replace the whole thing.

Tony personally i would avoid messing with your installed sub as it may cause problems with your warranty...Installing a new headunit, amp & sub is not too difficult & can be removed & replaced when necessary.

I have left my existing sub installed.... Have made a parcel shelf & installed 6x9's powerd by there own ampifier & have a dual 10"subwoofers powerd by there own amp lol.

The dual sub is installed with a fast plug for quick removal if need be... I have not tamperd with any cables or fixings therefore be taken out without trace.

Here's a how to guide if it helpshttp://ds3club.co.uk/showthread.php?...9594#post19594

Mine too "in the boot on the right" was delighted to discover it as the sales staff didn't even mention it (car was pre specced by them and i purchased off the forecourt with only 170km on the clock)

I'm pretty sure dstyles dont come with a sub as standard....

You only get it with the upgraded stereo...
