AUX Lead for iPod - Not Sure What To Look For

I went for one of these. It will charge your iPod as well as connect thru the AUX input

I got the product mentioned but when I plug in my ipod screen shows a picture of an Ipod with the words accessory attached and I'm unable to select any music , please help !

I do not use that in the DS but in my VW after connecting the I-Pod (2nd gen touch) had to unplug either the USB from the power port or the aux plug, don't remember which one, and and then plug it back in for it to play. Hope this helps.
