Woohoo my mounts finally came!!!!

They finally came after all the faffing on with Brodit being out of stock in the UK and blah blah blah:

And taken during the middle of a thunder storm thus it's rather dark and running lights are on

Seeing the A-pillar mount like that, makes me wonder if that's a better position for my phone than the left-of-stereo I was guna go for...

How's the phone to use in that position? Not that I'm advocating using a mobile phone whilst driving... Does it distract at-all?

Good to know about the rubber trim aswell... Would make wiring it in easy...

Doesn't distract at all as I use Torque to display speed and tachometer so my dash is literally in front of my eye now (no taking eyes of the road ). Very easy to use because the mount is rock solid, only thing I need to tap when driving though is S voice to give it voice commands

Nope but I'm going to be designing one. The one there is Car Dashboard Pro- works best on phones (unlimited launcher screens, 4 icons per screen). I also have one on the tablet that's car dashboard ultra that works better on tablets (unlimited launcher screens, 6 icons per screen)...both give location and GPS speed as well and ultra will also read out the current weather forecast to you if you tap it lol

On ics they will start using car mode so tapping home takes you back to that launcher screen rather than the normal one. Can also be set to auto start on Bluetooth connection etc

Hate even using handsfree when driving- in fact its policy not too

Chris- try reading up where I say what the phone display is used for. The phone is also setup to automatically read out text messages to me if I want it to and whether or not I take a call in car depends on the seriousness of the call- I can see the caller ID clearly in front of me without looking down at the console, same with speed so you tell me- what's better? As for the tablet the screen is larger and clearer than normal satnav so I don't need to squint at the map to see what I need to- again- better and safer. And the music on the tablet is controlled via the steering column stalks.

I have the stuff in there to makes things easier to be honest. I would never put anything in I thought was too complicated. My usual test is to see if my Mam can work stuff- she's 70 and not very technically advanced. She also loves the big satnv because she can see exactly where we are all the time, or if it's off she can see our speed and location (not always a good thing) or she can tap it up again and go through the music and choose an album she likes or go through the 20 odd thousand internet radion stations on there. The in car launcher (display screen) uses very large icons specifically to make it safe for using in car.

Trust me- if my Mam thinks it's a good thing then it's a good thing lol

One question though, what length cable have you used? I really like how you have hidden it.

There's photos of it Steve, look back a Page or 2. It actually 2 cables, the elbow cables aren't very long so used an extension.

Haven't bothered with any nfc tags, as soon as it connects to the car Bluetooth car dash pro starts, same with my tablet.

I have spoken to a Brodit dealer recommended by someone on here.
They tell me there is no holder listed for a Nexus 7.

Help somebody please!!!!! I tried to pm my favourite techy person (no names mentioned) but it says he's not taking pm's any more
