  • How to make a switch for DRL

Be aware, I think you`re guarantee expired when you do this

First you need yo know which wire is for the DRL.

Remove the cover off the fuse box under the hood.

there are 3 big connectors, you need the middle brown connector.
Disconnect this one, there is one thick blue wire which u need.

Then you need to make a extra 12v feed.
    I used a double 1.5mm2 cable.

You need to make a separate 12v feed, I made this in the front of the fuse box on the bolt there

I don`t know how this connector is called but pictures say enough.

Also you can see the fuse holder, I used a 5A fuse.

Then you go with this cable to inside your car, I don't know what is the best way to do this because you all have the steering wheel on the wrong side

I made my own switch in the existing buttons.

You can make this were ever you want.

When you cut away a little peace of the buttons the wires fit perfect threw the hole.

These switches are very easy to open, when you look at it the way to do
    this is very clear.

The cable that go`s back to the fuse box is connected to the blue wire, you can solder this on or use a conecter as is seen in the second picture.

This all is very easy to do en when you have all the tools, it is not more than one hour work.

    Now You can do this:

The car don`t have to be on contact, but never forget to turn of the DRL, mine were on for 3 days, I could steel start the car but it is not good I think.

PLEASE help me where i`m wrong or used the wrong words, I hope I can help you this way.

So I could have DRL's switched on with sidelights, with out needing lexia tool?

or will they still be dependant on how its programmed?

Just out of interest will the drls still come on as normal without having to switch then on, or will we now need to use the new switch for them to even come on as normal...if that makes sense?

                  *sigh*

                  Not this subject again...

Having the LED's on at night is ILLEGAL.

Under the new law you will fail the MOT.

Messing with the wiring like that was cause your warranty to be VOID.

Drive around at night with 800 candar LED's blinding everybody else makes you a D**K.

The DRLs wil work normal, when the normal lights go on the DRLs go out, at that moment you have a switch so you can put them on again.
