I got it at the end of November.

Not selling it till I move in to my house, which is 2 month off.

Narrowed it down to either:

Astra VXR 2009ish 10k miles 240BHP £11,000

or

VW Golf GTI Edition 30 2008ish 40k miles 230bhp £12,000

Still weighing up cheap and cheerful (for now) or reliable and slightly boring(exterior wise)

the VXR I have already had before and loved it, and has keyless entry and start.
the Golf has built in sat nav and a DSG gearbox....

I have a while to decide.

Read a few bad stories of it failing... but I'm sure if its well maintained and serviced it should be last a long time.

The semi-auto gearbox on the C2's is renowned for failing however that isn't made by ze Germans..

french shit. Are VW's still good at high mileage? Looks like I'd have to get one nearer to 60k miles, not sure if it's such a good idea with a 5 year old car.....

I think if Network Q give warranties with the VXR, that will make it my first choice. If no warranty then off to VW I go.
