Asked the extremely helpful lady at Halfords today (yes helpful people do exist in there) why were they reduced to such a cheap price. Apparently that towel has been discontinued now and they need to sell them ASAP.

Yep - that's what my guy said too... Not as soft as I expected though - are they safe for wax/polish buffing? Nice and big though...

To be honest, as they are not microfibre and are a Terry Towel then I have washed them with fabric conditioner and they have come out much softer.

I am not using mine for buffing as I have much softer towels for that. I will probably use them for washing insides of door jambs etc and I'm going to see how well they dry the car too.

The Kent drying towels I have are actually really soft! Maybe I'll try one of them for buffing. I've also got a couple of the Halfords peach skin ones, which are really really soft!...
