970 is a great card mate, only a tad slower than the 980 and a fraction of the price.

I have a 970m in this laptop, obviously very scaled back from a full fat desktop 970 but still plays well. The 970 runs very cool as well, download and install Afterburner to unlock some great monitoring and overclocking options.

Yeah, this one is factory overclocked as well, so should be a better match for my i7 4790, which has been using an amd 7850HD since I bought the cpu.

I put a 4690k into my lads machine when I rebuilt it and clocked it to around 4.2 ghz, my old 580gtx is a bit of a bottleneck although it is overvolted and significantly overclocked but il be replacing it with my 780gtx within 12 months.
He games at 1920x1080 so it will do for now but struggling to play the likes of Attila Total War at max settings.


Il put the 780GTX into his waterloop and his 580GTX into my daughters rig to replace her aircooled 560gtx (amazing overclocker).
