Interesting, whilst most Leave voters treated the referendum like it was a general election, the jocks voted to remain in the EU NOT to leave the UK, something to note.

Another point to note, poles and bookies have got next to nothing correct over the last couple of years ha ha ha

I had a rather uncomfortable discussion at a gathering on Saturday night when it came to talking about the EU and i was pretty much surrounded by remain, obviously i was a Leave. Now one of the arguments one of them used (them being 19 btw) "I struggled to initially make a decision because i didn't feel there was enough
information out there for young people, so i voted to remain".

And i wasn't sure if i was hearing things or someone with A level - going on to UNI level education was telling me they were incapable of doing research, so voted in quite a serious referendum something that they had no idea on what they were voting on.

I have to admit that I'm shocked by the number of voters, on both sides, who are now confessing they didn't really understand what they were voting for......

Some people should never be allowed to vote....

No matter how you voted, we now all need to make the leave decision work, to me, there is no point in whinging forever, we have to adapt (as humans have for thousands of years) and make it work...

Never a truer word spoken. I'll post a video of Nigel Farage in the European Parliament today that speaks a lot of sense about the EU and basically says that its done .. deal with it. As much as people don't like him as a Right Wing politician he does speak sense on the EU.

                    Video as mentioned above:

                    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlN9o3g-yuA

Nigel Farage basically says all the members of the EU parliament that they have never worked a proper days living in their lives.. its a watch for comedy as much as politics. And you CANNOT deny what he says makes logical, pragmatic sense, whether your a fan or not.

                    • First things first, Farage takes a wage of over £100k a year between him and his wife from the EU, for that he has a pretty patchy record on attendance.

He is entertaining but then again so would most people in that situation, saying whatever they like without challenge, look how he folds when sat in front of the likes of Marr or an astute (actual) politician.

He is the worst thing about the Leave campaign and i voted to leave, but he almost drove me to change my mind.

So what, what is wrong with politicians taking home a good salary, its OK for a surgeon or a high level teacher to take home 100k a year, yet politicians have to get the same grades, go through the same education levels and put as much
work and commitment in to becoming an MP and they pretty much put their lives on the line to speak about what they believe in! No i'm not Politian fan no.1 not by a long shot, a lot of them are bent, corrupt w.e. but they still have to follow the same principal
that people tell there kids ... Go to school, do well, go to college and university study hard and get results and you shall be rewarded for doing so.

Footballers don't have to go to university, they don't have to study hard, they still train hard and they get paid a lot more than politicians do but that's Ok.

I like Nigel Farage because i firmly believe he is a person first and a politician second where as a lot of politicians are politicians first and then a human second.. Notice human NOT person ... i use people because that reflects character and personality.. human doesn't.

Just because you are a politician doesn't mean you shouldn't be entitled to a decent living if you have earned it, I work in the Firearms trade, you might be Anti-Gun, should i not earn a decent living?

I think SFG's point was more along the lines of - If he didn't turn up to work and didn't do his job properly then he shouldn't expect to be paid and should be taken out of that position.

                          http://www.votewatch.eu/en/term8-nigel-farage-2.html - Check the "didn't vote" number.

Footballers get paid more than politicians, that's ok. If a footballer didn't turn up to a match or training though, that wouldn't be ok.

Farage is a great orator but so was Hitler.

                          • It doesn't overly suprise me that Farage doesn't want to be a regular visitor to the European Parliament because of what he stands for, I imagine he feels more of a needs to be MEP than a want to be... Maybe, maybe not. I will clear one thing up as much as i like Farage and would happily vote for him to be PM in the event on an election.
For the current state of affairs i want to see Boris Johnson are our new PM. Another people's person.
