Thanks for the response. Just got home and I'm soaked in sweat. It seems to trickle cool air when set at 20 but then blows hotter as the setting is decreased:confused:

My car had a front impact in October so I took it back tothe accident repair centre to check it out in March and an auto-electrical engineer said it was an ECU controlled fan not working and it had to go into Citroen to be repaired. Citroen then said it was the compressor and charged the insurance company, rather than warranty, to change it. Now the hot weather is back I appear to be back at square one with an unneccessary new compressor!

Wondering if it is a 110 only issue as many responses seem to be from other engines?

Ironic issue considering the car's colour choice

silly question but have you used the air con since the front end rebuild ?????????As it got any gas in it (might have leak) simple test open bonnet locate air con pipe down by washer bottle remove cap from large pipe you will find a vale like a car Tire then press center a very little see if gas comes out....

That is my thought too, sounds more like you have no gas or a leak in the system. My advice would be to have a mobile A/C guy come and do a system test, it's not expensive to have done.

My Alfa was re-gassed and cost me about £30.

Worked for me and then when ideal temp reached switched back to auto.

Tried this and nearly took my eye out so obvoiusly has some gas

Rang Citroen today and got it booked in for next week. The engineer confessed that he didn't think it had got cold enough when they handed it back last time!

Just driven home with ambient temp at 23^ and cabin temp only dropped from 110^ to 80^ after 45 minutes and that was with a thermometer stuck on the air vent. it seems to let cool air flow through down to a setting of 16/17 and then as it kicks the fan in it blows warm/ambient air through instead of chilled air as if the mix is wrong.

Anyone esle able to get a thermometer on your air vent to see how low you can go against ambient?

In normal weather conditions around 19-21. When the cabin is like an oven, as I say above, 16-18 for slight cooling but it wont blast any chilled air through if I go as far as 15 - LO and it seems to only blow warm (ambient) air through.

I'd take it in under warranty, I know my Leon seemed a bit warm once and the dealer measured the output temp of the A/C then did some giggery pockery and it was then fine....

With respect to the DS3, I was commenting today how well its A/C is coping with the weather......like a fridge in there after 30 seconds!

                        Regards,

I beg your pardon..................just be careful what you say........................not so..............actually. I was at Brands Hatch all day yesterday and my leather seated chariot was parked in an open field for 11 hours. Cloth interiors just look a bit to shabby to me.

I have a 110 with leather seats as well. Driving home from work this week, I found that with the a/c on LO, it seems that it takes most of the 30 minute journey to start to feel cool and if it's turned down even one level, thing's begin to warm up. I'll have to try some of the tips in this thread.
