Some nice pictures there AJ. So you get some free time when you're marshalling, it's not all rescuing cars from the gravel traps

The final race meeting of MotorSport Vision's 2012 season takes place at Brands Hatch this Saturday (24 November), with a packed programme of entertainment that will run into darkness!

The traditional end of season Britcar Into the Night race closes an historic season at the circuit, which has hosted the Road Cycling events for the Paralympic Games as well as great British and global motorsport occasions in 2012. In addition to the amazing spectacle of night racing, the meeting will feature a wide range of cars, from humble Smarts to incredible sportscars!

The event starts with the diminutive hatchbacks and a charity saloon car race, before two 45 minute races for GTs and sportscars that will provide one of the fastest races of the year on the Indy circuit. The world's best supercar marques are expected to race alongside purpose-built thoroughbreds, providing a memorable end to the season.

The event will then climax with the final round of the Britcar Production Championship, which will see the title being decided in the closing moments of the season, under cover of darkness. Just 21 points covers the top three teams, with 30 available for the win. The HE Racing Honda Civic Type-R is in pole position for the title, but the Topcats Racing SEAT Leon and Eurotech Honda Integra, co-driven by former British Touring Car Championship race winner and team boss Mike Jordan, are both in a position to strike.

More than twenty cars will take to the grid under floodlights, including BMW M3s, Ginettas and supercharged MINIs. Much of the circuit will be shrouded in darkness for a stunning 90 minute conclusion to the 2012 season, with plenty of action to carry fans through the winter months.

Well the season finished yesterday with the Britcar Prodution Cup Night Race. After a very wet and cold day I returned home and slept for 12 hours.

Race report and more pictures to follow. Now the training begins. Cannot wait for the 2013 Season to start.

Intersport Racing provide the final celebrations of 2012

On Saturday 24th November - Intersport Racing's Wayne Gibson and Kevin Clarke won the final race of the 2012 season at Brands Hatch in the Britcar Production Cup event that took place under night skies.
Rain dominated the proceedings at the Kent circuit which gave the field plenty to think about in both qualifying and the race. However, it was the BMW M3 of Gibson and Clarke that prevailed holding off a spirited late challenge from Michael Symons' BMW M3.

Symons started from pole but he lost his advantage on the opening lap. The slippery track conditions certainly played their part with three safety car periods during the 90 minute encounter. The leaders pitted under the first safety car which handed the lead to the Guy Povey/Graham Coombes Povey Motorsport M3. The car seemed to be in contention for the victory only for the team to pick up a drive through penalty.

As a result of the penalty, Clarke and Gibson regained the lead but they were unable to relax with a hard charging Symons clawing the leaders in. In the end, Clarke and Gibson held on to take the victory from Symons. The SEAT Leon of Craig Davies and former BTCC driver Adam Jones came home in third.

The race brought an historic 2012 season at Brands Hatch to a close, a year which has seen the venue at the centre of the world's attention during the Paralympic Games Road Cycling events. The MCE Insurance British Superbike and British Touring Car Champions were also crowned at the circuit, which also hosted rounds of the FIA Formula Two Championship and DTM this year.
