I used to be a Special too. N406 reporting for duty sir. Got to be a tutor constable with GMP but had to give it up due to work commitments. Loved going out on Friday and Saturday night section patrols. Also going out with traffic was brilliant especially in an unmarked V6 Mondeo.

Aye Friday and Saturday nights are usually fun. Done quite a bit with our traffic guys as well, the unmarked focus ST they used to use were fun. They use octavia VRs now and they aren't bad either. Miss the T5s though, been replaced with beemers now.

Not sure how smoking is linked to childhood obesity. Energy drinks do not promote a healthy lifestyle, neither do they aid performance unless caffeine is involved. 'Pre-hydration' is a marketing fad, ive never had to force my dog to drink and nobody has ever died at an organised sporting event from dehydration, I think currently six people in the UK have died from over consumption of fluid.
In order to maintain my hydration levels to that of Lucozades recommendations, I would need a water bowser following me around. The human body, in all its magnificence, has an amazing way of letting us know when we require water, we get thirsty.

However, they do say that marketing is an art form so let the ignorant parents keep stuffing their glutinous offspring with sports drinks.

Ha ha ha ha, not knocking your job, nobody is forced to drink them, its funny that there is a fitness thread going strong on another part of the site.
Everything in moderation, except listening to guitar based soft rock, that should never be allowed.

I used to be a project engineer in the friction materials industry. The opportunity to take very early retirement came at a time when the motor industry was a good sector to get out of. . . I didn't think twice. The financial deal offered, plus a combination of good planning & good luck (mainly the latter!) means that my disposable income now is more than when I was working.

To be fair, I used to drink redbull all the time! Always had a 4 can stick in the little pocket under footwell in my megane.

Gave them up totally in October and not had an energy drink like that since!

I only have Lo-Cal now and again, its not easy to get out here. The only fizzy stuff I drink when home has Amstel written on the glass.
