This is great value for money. A few years ago you would have paid over £500 for a spec like this. I defy anybody on here to say that this camera will not be capable of producing superb pictures.
Years ago I got sucked into the "must have the best" game and ended up spending a fortune on lenses and bodies. Now I have a Canon 550d and a Leica DLUX 4. Most times I don't take the Canon and lenses with me as the Leica has proved to be the better and fits in my pocket.

This camera looks quite promising for my price range, has some excellent reviews! I shall be looking into it further, Thanks for the help
If £100 - £200 = 'More than Happy', I would have thought £300 would have been at least 'content' or at worst 'mildly unhappy'.
By the way, I have seen Chocolate Fireguard play at Glastonbury, just before Jamie T, they were ok actually.
I drive a Citroen C2 because I havnt been driving very long, It made no sense buying a nice, new car, just to go out and ruin it.
In the same sense, I am willing to buy a £100 - £200 camera, in the hope of starting a potential hobbie, doesn't make sense to me to spend any more than that on something which might end up staying in a cupboard.
As with all things, you get what you pay for, I understand that and if its something I enjoy id be willing to save up some cash and buy a better one. Im not exactly well off and have family and other commitments, so have to start off basic ^_^

If you PM me your email address I will send you some pictures I took on a "cheap" camera!
My two biggest passions in life are Motorbikes and Cars. I go to a lot of car and motorbike shows and would love to be able to take pictures of the cars and bike I like. But that being said I am also the kind of person who quite often goes for random drives to places like the lakes (Mostly Kirkstone and Hartside Pass, my 2 favorite stretches of road) I always see stuff while driving and think "if I had a camera, that would be an awesome picture!" this could be anything from old buildings, streams, water falls, trees and wildlife.
Im not interested in having some ridiculously big camera with interchangeable lenses, but id be more than happy to spend £100 - £200 on something which is relatively compact, id probably take it just about everywhere with me! haha
Sony HX50. It's about £190 (with a free leather Sony case if you buy it from me )but has a 30x zoom (ideal for your motorsport stuff), very good low light performance, full HD video and full manual control so you can use it to learn about photography rather than just taking snaps.
The TZ35 was good at the time but it's been replaced with the TZ55 now which is about £200 but for that money, you're better off with the Sony. The Sony has been superseded by the HX60 but that's about another £100. Sony are still running the 50 alongside the 60 so it's still a current model.
£234 will get you the Canon SX700HS which is a bit quicker than the sony, better in low light and has a better stabiliser so at full zoom, it's steadier than the Sony. The specs are pretty much the same other than that. Just depends if you want to pay that little bit more.

As well as my equipment I mentioned in an earlier reply, I also own a museum piece Kodak Pocket camera, although pocket is maybe pushing it a bit! It was my fathers camera and is in full working order, unfortunately the no longer make films to fit it.
