I was wondering about those Chris, I was looking for any tasteful mods on Amazon and there were lots of ads for tuning boxes. Most were more than a remap from Jamie though and if that's the case I'd prefer to visit him.
Are the boxes just plug and play then Chris ? I need to look into the capabilities of the standard S1 clutch as well, some of the remap companies (REVO - claim that their remap is clutch friendly) others make no mention of it all. Need to understand if a remap to 300bhp will need a better clutch as well.sigpic

Have a look at DTUK website. Not sure they do S1
Mines plug and play. 3 connecters via a wiring harness. Just remove when take it to dealers.
A bit fiddly to fit, bout half hour.
Always resell too, unlike a remap
Bout £400 or just under for mine
Look see if yours benefits from a pedal box ( enhances accelerator reaction) which doesn't void warranty.sigpicJog on Noddy

Cheers Chris - I'll check it out....
And, I'm back lol
They do cover S1's - http://www.diesel-performance.co.uk/...2.0-tfsi-231ps
Claim to get 316bhp so I'll need to research them some more, is that what you have Chris ? I was also looking at ABT.Last edited by lfcrule1972; 05-07-2016, 06:52.sigpic

^ Yep. They are pretty good.
As i say, get the performance, take it off when you need to, no worries of remaps being overwritten, and resell when you move on to another motor
355 BHP for a Golf R, as a friend of mine can prove.
There is another... think its JB1 or something. Can check it out.
Roll on TRAX :-)
Just copied this from another of my clubsites:
"Burger Tuning is a US based company that specializes in advanced plug and play units. The company was formed in 2008 and has predominantly focused on the BMW market where we have had great success. Our units power the strongest OEM turbo BMW's and hold records across all the models. More can be viewed at our website www.burgertuning.com.
We would like to introduce VWROC users to our latest offering and entry into the VAG Group market which we entered a year ago after two years of extensive development and testing.
The Burger Tuning JB1 is a plug and play solution offering simple at home tuning without requiring ECU access to achieve power goals.
jb_vw_performance_tuner.jpg
These units are now available and a ready for order at http://burgertuning....ge_1_tuner.html with a retail price of $379 plus $35 for the optional data cable.
The JB1 is a true plug and play tune offering safe and adjustable gains. It can be installed and removed in minutes.
The unit ships with a base setting in map 1 that increases the boost by +4.8psi over stock that is safe to be used with 95RON and up. The typical power gains on the setting are 55hp and 70ft lb. With higher octane accompanied with bolt ons and octane we have seen gains of 85hp and 90ft lb in Map 1. All of this whilst keeping the engines stock fail safes in place.Last edited by Chris_Blue; 05-07-2016, 10:41.sigpicJog on Noddy

My recommendation would be dont go for the best performance rated- not always the best quality and pushed the car to the max
Go for the safest
Get something that can be "turned down" rather than maxed out all the time. DTUK has 3 map settings. low/med/high
High all the time makes the car twitch now and again....sigpicJog on Noddy
