Nearly a DS3 Owner...

Hey all,

I ordered my DS3 three weeks ago now, I believe it should be no more then another three till I take delivery. I've gone for the DSport HDi 110 in Belle-ile Blue metallic with Onyx Black roof/wing mirrors and Bellone Black wheels. Took it with the City Signature as thought the folding in wing mirrors looked cool. Not got much to say on it really as still waiting for it. My only doubt is that I didn't get leather seats, and will the netting catch, hopefully not. A big upgrade from my ageing X-reg Saxo 1.1i anyway with so many new features to play with.

Website seemed cool, and informative so thought I'd sign up and keep reading. Good stuff!! I'm a Southampton lad but dot between Portsmouth/Winchester a lot, not seen many DS3s so this should stand out.

Welcome along! Wow, that will be a step up!! I had a 1.4 C3 before WTF, and that was quite a change.

Post some photo's when you pick it up, haven't seen many blues!

Don't be concerned about the leather seats, they're no big deal. The ones you get will be snug and comfy without the high maintenance! I've had leather seats in previous cars because they can be heated when the weathers cold but the UK spec for the DS3 does not allow this - so what's the point?

I didn't see a point myself, just concerned that if someone wore the wrong clothing in the car that it could catch on the netting the cloth seats use. Doesn't look like anyone's reported that as an issue though.

The name was a nickname from school that a teacher gave me when a bird decided to do its bidding above me, sort of stuck throughout so I've just adopted it. It's quite funny to I will get pictures up as soon as I get it, going to be showing this off a lot.

Nah Its Fine, The Netting Is So Tightly Integrated To The Seat Its Not Loose At All !

I wear a studded belt most days, and its never caught.

Damn bird's and their poo! I've got acid burns on my roof from an evil bird Will polish out, just V annoying. Can hardly see them, but I know they are there.

I've not had any problem with the netting on the seats, and mine's got 15k on the clock.

Much warmer than (unheated) leather too (except in the summer, when leather will roast your a*se off)

Cheers all! Good to hear the netting shouldn't be a problem. The worst problem now is waiting. I phoned up Monday to see if they would have a delivery date, got told I'd be phoned back Tuesday with one, nothing. Same for Weds, then phoned end of Thursday to be told it will be built this month, so they don't know. Weird as I was previously told (when I questioned will it definately have the black bellone wheels), that it had been picked off the line. Shocking. Just more annoying that the Saxo's tax/insurance runs out end of the month and I was hoping to just renew on the DS3 and save some cash on admin fees/tax. O well, not much I can do, just have to wait and see.

I've done the whole, it's my desktop wallpaper and several pictures on my phone to show off thing then. Also love spotting them out, not many. Good to see another Southamptoner on here!!

The netting seats are fine - with a teenager and a 5 year old I haven't had any problems.

Welcome to the mad house. I went for the leather seats as I liked the look of them. Sounds like a great colour combo. There is one around near me but with the white roof and alloys. The blue looks fantastic in the sunlight.

Yea I've always liked the Mk3 Clio in that colour. Was tempted by the 182 but decided that it would eat fuel.

On a downer, Citroen phoned today, supposedly mine is one effected by the issues in Japan and getting parts for the Diesel engine. Devastated, been told more likely to be mid/end May now.
