OK I will leave the Citroen head unit in, not much use I'll get from it. I was initially told 6 weeks so was expecting before the end of April. Then got told middle/end of May and was given the excuse that there was a part required from Japan that they didn't have. I'm expecting a further update tomorrow. Stef who has ordered the same engine from the same dealer a week later has been told middle of May and that was just Tuesday. Seems like they're trying to keep us happy by giving false hope, but I'd rather just be told the truth.

Thanks Biggie, I'm P'd off now because I'm stuck without a car for a lot longer than I planned! Just to confirm, the 110 is not subject to issues due to parts shortage from Japan?

From my experience of buying new Citroen's over the past years, most salesmen don't know when a particular car will be built, they rely on limited information that trickles thro Citroen network.
Even when a car physically exists within the supply chain there are so many other links that affect the delivery that until the car arrives on the forecourt every date given is an estimate based on previous experience.
As I understand things there is a shortage of some electronic parts from Japan which affects the production schedules and I would hazard a guess that this is causing all sorts of issues for the managers controlling the production lines.
As they say, patience is a virtue , the wait will be worth it in the end

LOL, not when I have a 75 mile daily commute to work with no car!

There were some concerns about parts being supplied from Japan but the factory just continued to use parts from the warehouse, fortunately Japan seems to have got themselves back on track for supply.

Stef could your dealer not lend you a vehicle while you wait if you have already given your part exchange? It's a practice we do all the time here, okay the loan cars are normally C1's but it keeps you going until your new car arrives.

I'm in two minds to cancel the order, I hate being lied too. Especially as I have been given a lease purchase quote on a DS3 Racing for only £431 P/M on the same £500 deposit.

LOL, hopefully not! I've been driving a 480 BHP super saloon for the last 2 years and have a clean licence so far.

Who did you order yours off in the end? I got mine from Graham who it then turned out is leaving now anyway. If I could afford to run the Racing something like that would be tempting. Is very annoying, but I've waited this long. Be interesting to see if they do anything about keeping us waiting so long and informing us incorrectly.

Andy was the sales guy I dealt with.

Right I'm off down to the dealers armed with my evidence (anonymous of course) to find out why they've been fibbing about my delivery date................................
