Gonna have to argue with this.

You're saying that 3bhp difference isn't going to make a difference but the same could be said about 20mm's of rubber.. After only a few mods you can easily get the THP past the BHP/Torque figures of the racing and simply uprate the brakes/suspension and still be under the asking price for the R including insurance costs.

I'm not slagging off DS3R's as they're fantastic machines and the options available such as the carbon trim and rim's that aren't available on the other models make it looks superb.

I'd have to disagree with your point about insurance. I'm sure if you declared the modifications carried out to a THP to get it anywhere near Racing spec for power, suspension etc. the insurance company would charge you more than if you insured a Racing with them.

If the 2 cars both produced the same BHP then the car with the extra 20mm of rubber would have better traction and therefore be quicker off the line than the other one.

Try claiming on your warranty when you have blown up your modified car or your insurance when you crash your undeclared modified car.

My mods are declared. Nobody will touch me for under 4/5k on the DS3R.

Full forge kit + remap + a decent induction and you can easily put out 210/220BHP not to mention the higher torque figures.. All that is going to cost you a maximum of 2/3k.

Same, not slagging off the R's, amazing bit of kit, but for £6k more?!

Hmm, if it was £2-£3k more then maybe I would of bought one, but for that amount of extra money I could buy some nice 18" OZ rims, racing coilovers, carbon ceramic brakes and the carbon bits off that Musketier Tiburon 222 kit and still have spare change.

Where does the 6k figure come from? If you spec a DSport with the same options that the Racing has as standard then that figure is reduced to less than 5k. The carbon bits on the Musketier are carbon look not genuine carbon fibre, again a lot cheaper and from the pictures on their website nastier looking.

If I wanted a KitKat I wouldn't buy 4 wafer biscuits and a bar of chocolate to melt over the wafers, I buy a KitKat

Ok 5k then, but 5k buys a lot of racing kit, scratch the Musketier carbon "effect" kit, it doesn't do anything, just like the real carbon on the DS3r. Plus, i'll have enough spare change for a rollcage, so after pulling away from you with my superior torque output, when I let you pass, out of pity, when you crash into me you won't squash me!

OK what would you buy for £23k? off the shelf so to speak not something that you would have to modify

Implying you didn't get any freebies with the DS3R..

Look, we're not slagging off the DS3R simply saying that after spending the same amount of money on a THP you'd have a car much faster than the DS3R. Surely you must agree on that?

The kit-kat theory is a silly one though. If there was a better tasting 4 wafer chocolate biscuit on offer that was 10p cheaper of course I'd buy that..
