To me all this insurance caper is tosh
Not tempting fate, but I have large excess cos in 30 years Ive claimed once and that was for a break in! Little kids nicking stuff
Premiums are lower with higher excesses- and with just a little bit of luck you wont need the excess
So Id take a hire car with a £1000 excess. Never listen to their "Pay us more and the excess is less"

Excess on the Citroen 7 day temp cover is £500.
