What year THP to get?

Hi All,

Looking at getting a THP in the next few months and have been reading about the engine problems with them.

Is this just limited to the 2010 models?

I'm hoping to pick something up second hand nearly new maybe a 2012 plate but if late 2010 or 2011's are ok maybe one of them.

Has this been confirmed that they have sorted it or is it just pot luck on whether you get a bad one?

Don't risk it.

I'd recommend either buying a Diesel if you want the DS3 or a different car.

Too many people have had too many problems with the THP's now (my second engine has just blown along with a number of other forum members).

I'd seriously recommend staying away from them.

The diesel 110/115 is just as fast in the real world mate.

Oh, don't get me wrong. If rumours are anything to go by, the 12+ plate should be fine but Citroen haven't posted anything or notified anyone of a problem that affects the THP or what they've done to remedy it.

I've had my THP since June 2012. So far had no issues.

As I understand it, it's the older 2010 THP models that have had the most problems but I'm sure you could find more information using the search.

For me, I love the idea of driving a THP but would always have that thought in the back of mind that at any time it would go pop.

Sure fire bet the 110/115 wont, and in for worry free driving.

I really cba to go through half of what this lot have. You might get one that is ok, the later models might be ok. But for me, its too much of a ball ache to risk.

Always the possibility that someone is selling it because of a problem.
Diesels are great and, when re-mapped, are a good, fast ride!
Not slow without a remap either!

I've seen the poll about problems people have had with different models but it doesn't state what years they were.

I suppose these are still pretty new so people are still learning about them.

After my C2 I had an EVO 8 (400bhp) then M3 (350bhp) now a Subaru STI spec d (315bhp) it just seems I dropping in power more and more lol
