  • Hi from the Midlands :) Searching for my DS3 at the moment

    Hi everyone,

So having had great fun in my R50 mini over the past 3-4 years i'm now looking for something else. Unfortunately a new DS3 is out of my price range but I can pickup the best possible choice for around £10k or less.

I test drove a 150 thp that I would of snapped up having not read about problems with them with timing chains/pcv's and it only having a 3 month warranty from the company selling it. It was in yellow, keeping in tune with my others but I do like the white and black versions... the thing that drew me to this one in particular was the interior, it was a little different to the rest of the DS3's they had available and I liked the black and yellow touch to the interior seats.

One pet hate is the maroon-ish dash, a must avoid for me . Sorry if I offend anyone.

Look forward to spending some time on here, thank you for your help already.

How does one become a full member to see the classifieds? I might be missing a bargain for sale .

    Hi,

information on full membership can be found here: http://www.ds3club.co.uk/showthread....ull+membership

Good plan on sticking well away from the THP. Have you considered a diesel DSport or are you looking for a petrol engine?

I'm still considering a diesel, is there any differences engine/turbo/injector wise between the diesel models or are they much the same with different ECU maps? If so i'd be pretty tempted to get an airdream and have it remapped for the best of both worlds, economy and speed lol.

I don't suppose someone can tell me if theres any cars for sale in there at the moment? Having not yet purchased the DS3 it'd be a little silly for me to jump into a full membership just yet .

        I agree!

There's no cars in there for sale at the moment. Autotrader or ebay would probably be your best bet.

WTF wrote up a great article on the different models, this may be of some use to you: http://www.ds3club.co.uk/showthread....ighlight=guide

          Welcome!!

I'm getting a DSport at some point, had my heart set on a THP, and with the part ex on my DStyle, it's not going to be that new, with the stories of older ones going wrong and the ball ache most have had with CUK, it's something I would rather avoid.

          Airdream is a good choice!

Yeah, new one in June 2012, unfortunately crashed it on M25 at end of April following a blowout

My insurance Co replaced it with a brand new one in May this year....

                          Hi Cowgirl,

Welcome. I'm also based in the Midlands. I agree with what others have said.
If you're looking at the older THPs but worried about reliability issues an airdream with a remap is a good alternative.
A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk, I have a work station….

Chris, Chris Chris....... I was told not to get a THP by one of the dealers I visited when looking for my first DS3 early last year, I have nothing against them personally I just don't want to run the risk of owning one when it will cost me more in petrol and road tax and possibly be less reliable than the eHDI. We all know you're happy with yours even though you changed the first one in early and went for a 155 which you hope is more reliable....

Well surprised a Citroen Dealer told you not to buy a Citroen - think there would be a problem if CUK found out. Bet they've sold some!
THP is now top of the range too on petrol- advise people not to buy. Blimey! Gatwick?

BTW a remapped Diesel wouldn't keep up with a standard THP either (And some don't wanna remap do they?)
And I don't dislike the Diesels- I just don't like them. Is the word "Ambivalent" ?
Changed my first one, because I was offered a deal that I couldn't refuse.
